At Trovata, innovation starts with people who deeply understand the problems they’re solving. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Steven Parsons as a TMS Product Specialist focused on Bank Fee Analysis (BFA) and Bank Account Management (BAM).
With 25 years of experience directly related to bank fee analysis & technology, Steven brings valuable institutional knowledge and insight to Trovata and our clients with an unwavering commitment to helping treasury teams understand their data and turn that into hard dollar savings.
From Banking Operations to Treasury Technology
Steven began his career as a funding analyst at Bank One, working in mortgage lending and cash management operations. When Bank One was acquired by JPMorgan Chase, he unexpectedly found himself searching for his next role.
That search led him to Weiland Financial Group, a relatively small software company pioneering digital bank fee analysis at a time when the process was still almost entirely paper-based.
“They didn’t need someone who knew software yet,” Steven explains. “They needed someone who understood banking. They could teach the technology part.”
That role sparked a career that would span decades—including 24 years at Weiland Financial Group where Steven was heavily involved in helping to shape the discipline into what it is today.
What Keeps Steve in the BFA Space
Steven has worked closely with treasury teams at many Fortune 500 companies and has led more than 200 BFA solution implementations. He partnered with product and engineering teams to improve the platform and helped organizations uncover millions of dollars in annual bank fee savings.
Over the years, Steven’s expertise continued to grow and after more than two decades at Weiland, he moved to Redbridge DTA for a short period before returning to work on the Weiland BFA product.
What ultimately kept him in the space wasn’t just the work—it was the people and the impact of what he was doing.
“I realized how much I enjoyed helping treasury professionals answer tough questions from senior leadership,” Steven says. “When you can bring transparency to complexity, you give people confidence in their roles and unlock savings to show value added by the treasury group.”
Steven views himself as an extension of his clients’ teams—an educator and advisor who helps make sense of one of treasury’s more complex and misunderstood data sets.
An Industry Expert Focused on Clarity
Bank fee analysis is notoriously cloaked in mystery. Banks often structure statements in a slightly different way, making comparisons time-consuming and often unclear. This complexity is exactly where Steven thrives.
His expertise is recognized across the industry. In 2020, Steven was selected to serve on the AFP Code Decisioning Committee, helping shape updates to the standards used across BFA services and reporting.
Why Trovata—and Why Now?
What excites Steven most about Trovata is the opportunity to bring long-overdue innovation to a space he’s spent decades helping to advance.
“Working in this space for as long as I have, the hard-working people in treasury deserve the tools, ingenuity, and forward-thinking that Trovata is committed to delivering,” Steven says. “What Trovata is doing with AI and real-time data is light years ahead of anything I’ve seen in the treasury and bank fee analysis space.”
With AI-driven capabilities, real-time data processing, and a modern TMS platform, Trovata enables treasury teams to move beyond rigid, monthly summaries and gain timely, actionable insight into their bank fees and accounts.
For Steven, joining Trovata means being part of the build—helping shape tools that make treasury work more transparent, more efficient, and far less manual, while uncovering new ways for companies to make better use of their cash.
What Clients Can Expect
Clients working with Steven can expect a relationship-first approach grounded in trust, collaboration, and shared success. He believes bank fee analysis works best when it strengthens—not strains—relationships between a client and their banks.
“You get much further by building strong relationships and using the right tools to bring clarity to the conversation,” he says.
Above all, Steven sees himself as a long-term partner to his clients—someone invested in helping them succeed today and adapt for what’s next.89
We’re thrilled to welcome Steven Parsons to the Trovata team and to continue raising the technology bar for treasury and specifically in their relationships with their banking partners.
