At Trovata, we believe our success is driven not only by innovation but by the people who bring our vision to life. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Matt Bramson as our new Vice President of Sales. With his unique blend of technical expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for building high-performing teams, Matt is the perfect fit to guide Trovata’s next chapter of growth and help more finance and treasury professionals turn complex data into clear, actionable decisions.

A Career Built on Blending Finance, Technology, and Sales

Matt’s path to sales leadership wasn’t a straight line. He began his studies at Indiana University with an eye toward investment banking, balancing a finance major with advanced computer science courses. But his early fascination with diagnosing problems and prescribing solutions—a mindset he once thought would lead him to dentistry—eventually drew him toward a career in sales leadership.

“Sales, at its core, is about diagnosing problems and prescribing solutions. It’s problem-solving—helping clients find the right path forward.” – Matt Bramson, VP of Sales, Trovata

He began at FactSet, competing with Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters, where he worked across the entire customer lifecycle: scoping, building, deploying, and renewing financial technology solutions. That role gave him a front-row seat to the power of data in financial decision-making—how timeliness, accuracy, and accessibility of data can change the way institutions operate

His success eventually took him abroad to London, where he helped build and scale FactSet’s content and technology solutions practice across Europe, further sharpening his skills in market expansion and team development.

Matt later jumped into the startup world with Narrative Science, an early Artificial Intelligence pioneer in natural language generation. There, he helped shape a new category—data storytelling—and moved into leadership as the company scaled. Narrative Science’s innovative technology, which auto-generated plain-language insights from business intelligence dashboards, attracted Salesforce, which later acquired the company.

From there, Matt led global sales at Manta, a data lineage platform. By reshaping the company’s go-to-market strategy and forging deep partnerships—most notably with IBM—he helped drive growth and positioned Manta for its eventual acquisition by IBM.

Together, these experiences cemented his reputation for scaling sales organizations in high-growth environments, guiding teams into new markets, solving unmet customer needs, and accelerating growth through strategic partnerships.

Why Trovata? A Unique Opportunity in Fintech

What excites Matt most about Trovata is its opportunity to reimagine an existing category.

He explains, “Treasury is being held to the same data standards as every other part of the enterprise. For too long, it’s been manual and underserved. We’re here to help them modernize by taking full advantage of cloud-native technology, data transformation, and AI.”

That opportunity has only grown with Trovata’s recent acquisition of Financial Science’s ATOM, a robust, enterprise-ready Treasury Management System (TMS). The combination of ATOM’s deep treasury functionality with Trovata’s modern, cloud-native infrastructure positions the company to take on legacy incumbents directly and move up market.

“This is what drew me in. Corporate treasury seems to have gone unchanged in the last 30 years,” Matt shares. “Finance teams are swimming in data but rarely able to understand the story behind it in real time. Trovata changes that. With a modern platform, a full TMS, and a diverse ecosystem of partners and channels, we can help treasury and finance leaders not just see their data, but actually use it to make smarter, faster decisions.”

For Matt, the chance to drive adoption of a platform with such vast opportunity was compelling—but what sealed the decision was the combination of world-class technology and the people behind it. He thrives in the fast-paced, high-growth environment of startups and saw in Trovata another opportunity to take it to the next level with people who share similar values.

“Trovata’s technology is world-class, but what really impressed me was the culture. Everyone here is smart, collaborative, and humble—no egos. That’s the kind of team I want to be a part of.” – Matt Bramson, VP of Sales, Trovata

This alignment of values isn’t just what attracted Matt to Trovata; it’s also how he leads.

A Leadership Philosophy Grounded in Values

Matt brings to Trovata a leadership style rooted in integrity, accountability, and consistency. In his own words, he follows core tenets that he will carry with him as a leader at Trovata:

Play to win: “If you do the right things on a daily basis, and follow the right process, success follows.”

  • Extreme ownership: “As a leader, I start by pointing the finger at myself. What could I have done differently to enable my team to succeed?”
  • Customer-first mindset: “Sales doesn’t stop at contract signing. Our job is to create a flywheel of value from the very first conversation through deployment and beyond.”
  • Quality over quantity: “At a startup, time is the most precious resource. I’d rather focus on quality conversations that move the needle than chase volume.”
  • Coachability and growth mindset: “The most important ability is coachability. Finding people who want to learn, grow, and get better every day.”

Looking Ahead

Matt joins Trovata at a pivotal moment as treasury teams around the world embrace automation, AI, open banking connectivity, and emerging innovations like stablecoin. With his deep experience in sales leadership, partnership development, and data storytelling, Matt is ready to help accelerate Trovata’s mission to transform treasury management.

We’re thrilled to welcome Matt Bramson to the Trovata team and look forward to the impact he’ll make as we continue to innovate for finance and treasury professionals everywhere.
